paluno - The Ruhr Institute for Software Technology - recommends visiting the courses "Software Engineering 1" and "Software Development and Programming" to every student. The courses "Design and Architecture of Software Systems" and "Unified Modeling Language" may also be very important for many students depending on the core areas they have chosen.

All students in the master's degree program are advised to visit the courses "Software Product Line Engineering", "Software Engineering 2", and "Software Quality Assurance". For some core areas, "Software Performance Engineering" might be an interesting course as well.
