TransformingTransport meets Startups

On June 13, 2019 the Duisburger Hafen AG (duisport), paluno and Software AG were guests at the innovation platform startport. They informed logistics startups about the results of the Big Data project TransformingTransport.

Over the past 2.5 years, stakeholders from all relevant European transport and logistics segments have worked together in the TransformingTransport (TT) project to advance the digitalization of the sector. In 13 pilots, they developed Big Data use cases and promising solutions. Now, the final phase of TT is about transferring the results to the European economy. Startups will play an important role in this.

This is also the case in Duisburg, the logistics hub in the heart of Europe. On June 13, 2019, the TT project partners duisport, paluno and Software AG informed the startups of the innovation platform startport about the results from the pilot "Ports as Intelligent Logistics Hubs". They talked about the use of big data analyses for predictive maintenance in a port terminal. And they presented how machine learning methods can be used to produce very accurate predictions of terminal processes.

The creative environment at startport was ideal for exchanging experiences with the introduction of digital solutions in the logistics industry. In a small group, the project partners and the startups were able to share their findings from working with machine learning and big data methods.
