During the EuroVisconference on visualization, which is taking place from June 4 to 8 in Brno (Czech Republic), Prof. Dr. Fabian Beck received the Young Researcher Award 2018. Congratulations!

Fabian Beck's research goal is to make data understandable for people. To this end, he examines both fundamental aspects and practical applications of data visualization. For example, he explores how visualizations can help software developers to better understand and modify programs. Another approach is the visualization of eye movement data in order to improve software usability.

The newly created European prize for young visualization researchers honors Fabian Beck for the contributions he has made to visualization research in his still young career since 2008. Visualization already played an important role for him during his doctoral studies at the University of Trier. Later, he intensified his research as a research assistant at the Institute for Visualization at the University of Stuttgart. Since 2016, he has headed the paluno working group for visualization as junior professor for computer science.
