Your main responsibilities

With a total of ten professors, the Department of Software Engineering is one of the four focal points of the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Applicants should represent a forward-looking subject area in research and teaching. The candidate should have an excellent scientific track record, be nationally and internationally recognized, and represent a research profile that contributes to strengthening the Department of Software Engineering.
 
Publications in high-ranking, peer-reviewed scientific outlets are expected as well as experience appropriate to the advertised position in the implementation of self-acquired, competitive third-party funded projects, preferably DFG-funded projects. In particular, the applicant is expected to be willing to contribute to the research institute paluno - The Ruhr Institute for Software Technology, to work on applications for joint projects and to actively help shape new research priorities.
 
The applicant is expected to give basic lectures in German or English in the Bachelor's programme in Software Engineering and in the related Master's programme.
 
The University of Duisburg-Essen attaches particular importance to the quality of teaching. Didactic ideas on teaching - also taking into account the profile of the University of Duisburg-Essen - must be presented.
