More than 100 employees make paluno what it is: one of the largest research institutes for software engineering in Germany. In 10 working groups, our scientists research a unique variety of basic topics and innovative applications. They work together in project cooperations with internationally positioned companies as well as medium-sized companies and start-ups. About the University of Duisburg-Essen
The University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) - one of the youngest and largest universities in Germany - is located in the middle of the Ruhr Metropolitan Region. Its broad spectrum of subjects ranges from humanities, social sciences and education to economics, engineering, natural sciences and medicine. Since its foundation in 2003, the UDE has developed into a globally recognized research university.
This is reflected by the top positions the UDE has recently achieved in international rankings. In a global comparison of the performance of the best universities founded since the turn of the millennium, the UDE came in third. In the Times Higher Education Ranking, it holds down 16th place among the best 200 universities worldwide younger than 50 years old.
